A few examples of local rings. I (Q2428703): Difference between revisions

The paper is the first part of the study entitled ``A few examples of local rings'' due to the author. It is announced that the second part will appear in Kyoto J. Math.\ and the third part is in preparation. In Section 1 `Heitmann's lemma and fundamental construction of bad local domains', the author recalls the fundamental techniques of constructing bad noetherian local domains, due to \textit{C. Rotthaus} [Nagoya Math.\ J. 74, 123--135 (1979; Zbl 0388.13013)], \textit{T. Ogoma} [Japan.\ J. Math.\ 6, 147--163 (1980; Zbl 0456.13005)], \textit{R. C. Heitmann} [Rocky Mountain J. Math.\ 12, 145--148 (1982; Zbl 0484.13010)] and \textit{M. Brodmann} and \textit{C. Rotthaus} [J. Algebra 75, 386--394 (1982; Zbl 0483.13011)]. In Section 2 `Examples', as applications of the techniques in section 1, fifteen examples are given. Example 2.11: a three-dimensional Nagata normal local domain, which is a complete intersection, whose regular locus is not open. Example 2.15: a three-dimensional Henselian Nagata normal local domain, which is not catenary. In Section 3 `Construction of bad local domains with a specified prime element', he presents a unified version of methods due to \textit{M. Brodmann} and \textit{C. Rotthaus} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 87, 596--600 (1983; Zbl 0524.13007)] and \textit{T. Ogoma}'s unpublished paper [``Construction of an unmixed domain \(A\) with \(A/\mathfrak p\) mixed for some prime ideal \(\mathfrak p\) of \(A\): Making use of Poincaré series'']. In Section 4 `Examples with a specified prime element', seven examples are given. Example 4.7: a three-dimensional unmixed local domain \(A\) that has a prime ideal \(\mathfrak p\) such that \(A/\mathfrak p\) is not unmixed. In Section 5 `Construction of bad factorial local domains', he follows the method due to \textit{T. Ogoma} [Mem.\ Fac.\ Sci.\ Kochi Univ.\ Ser.A Math. 3, 65--74 (1982; Zbl 0483.13005)], which provides us with a method to construct bad factorial local domains whose completions are designated complete local domains. In Section 6 `Examples', the following examples are given. Example 6.1: a two-dimensional Cohen-Macaulay factorial excellent local domain with a Gorenstein module, which has no dualizing module. Example 6.2: a three-dimensional excellent factorial Cohen-Macaulay local domain that has no Gorenstein module.
