A finite group \(G\) is a \(\mathcal B\)-group if its minimal generating sets have the same cardinality (like the finite \(p\)-groups). A group \(G\) is said to have the basis property if all its subgroups are \(\mathcal B\)-groups. These definitions and some results of this paper are inspired by the work of \textit{R. Scapellato} and \textit{L. Verardi} [Boll. Unione Mat. Ital., VII. Ser., A5, No. 2, 187-194 (1991; Zbl 0788.20019) and Ann. Sci. Univ. Blaise Pascal Clermont-Ferrand II 95, Math. 26, 51-60 (1990; Zbl 0788.20018)]. The main result (Theorem 1) states: ``A finite group has the basis property if and only if \(G\) is a \(p\)-group or \(G\) is a Frobenius group of order \(p^\alpha q^\beta\) (\(p\) and \(q\) prime numbers) with cyclic complement.''
