Finding previous notions of a Reichenbachian common cause system to be unsatisfactory, Mazzola presents an alternative version that overcomes earlier inadequacies. A generalization of Reichenbach's conjunctive forks is given that satisfies certain requirements regarded as basic, and it is shown that ``systems of any finite number of common causes, so reshaped, are proved to exist for any positively correlated pair in a suitable extension of the given classical probability space'' (p.\ 513).
