A domain \(E \in \mathbb {C}\) is said to be convex in the direction \(\phi\) if every line with the slope \(\phi\) intersects \(E\) along a connected subset. Let \(\mathcal K(\phi)\) denote the class of normalized univalent functions in the unit disk \(\mathbb{D}\) which map \(\mathbb{D}\) onto a domain convex in the direction \(\phi\) and let \(\mathcal K_H(\phi)\) denote the class of harmonic mappings with this property. The author constructs the operators \[ T_c[f](z) = \frac{f(z)+czf'(z)}{1+c} + \frac{\overline{f(z)-czf'(z)}}{1+c},\;\;\;z \in \mathbb{D}, c >0, \] which take normalized univalent analytic functions in \(\mathbb{D}\) into harmonic mappings. He proves that - \(T_c[f]\) is in \(\mathcal K_H(\pi/2)\) if and only if \(f\) is convex, and - \(T_c[f]\) is convex harmonic if and only if for every fixed \(\phi\) the Hadamard product \(f*g \in \mathcal K(\phi)\) whenever \(h \in \mathcal K(\phi)\). Finally, the author provides coefficient conditions leading to harmonic mappings which are starlike or convex of order \(\alpha\). | |||
