This paper introduces a new approach to the linearization of an inverse problem associated with imaging of reflection seismic data. The authors propose a parametrix for the problem in the form of Fourier integral operator. The parametrix is analyzed microlocally. A reconstruction procedure is derived from the parametrix, and the results are numerically illustrated.
