Basic algebras are a common generalisation of MV-algebras, lattice effect algebras and orthomodular lattices. They can be identified with bounded lattices with section-antitone involutions. Effect basic algebras form a subvariety of the basic algebras. In this paper, the authors axiomatise the variety of effect basic algebras with underlying modular lattice, generated by MV-chains and horizontal sums of three-element chain basic algebras.
