A Coxeter-Conway frieze is an array whose any four neighboring entries form a matrix of determinant one. Many interesting connections have been established between friezes and various mathematical objects. The author considers 2-friezes. Each entry in a 2-frieze equals the determinant of the matrix formed by its four neighbors. The author proves that if the width of the array is at least five, there are infinitely many closed integral 2-friezes. If the width is between one and three, it is known that only finitely many closed integral 2-friezes exist. The case when the width is four is still open. The proof of the main theorem is based on a correspondence between equivalence classes of clusters and fragments of integral 2-friezes of a given width. The author also introduces several natural operations on integral 2-friezes.
