The author studies the effective cone of the Quot scheme parameterizing rank \(r\), degree \(d\) quotient sheaves of the trivial bundle of rank \(n\) on \(\mathbb P^1\). Inspired by the work of \textit{I. Coskun} and \textit{J. Starr} [Int. Math. Res. Not. 2006, No. 19, Article ID 35273, 25 p. (2006; Zbl 1117.14028)], the author constructs explicitly two effective divisors \(D_{\text{unb}}\) and \(D_{\text{deg}}\), calculates their divisor classes, and proves that they generate the effective cone.
