    Let \({\mathcal H}^{\Phi}({\mathbb B}^n)\) be the Hardy-Orlicz space of holomorphic functions on the unit ball \({\mathbb B}^n\) in \({\mathbb C}^n\) generated by a continuous and non-decreasing function \(\Phi:{\mathbb R}_+\to{\mathbb R}_+\). One says that a continuous and non-decreasing function \(\Phi:{\mathbb R}_+\to{\mathbb R}_+\) belongs to the class \({\mathcal L}_p\) (resp. \({\mathcal U}^p\)) if there is a number \(p\in(0,1]\) (resp. \(p\in[1,\infty)\)) and a constant \(C>0\) such that \(\Phi(st)\leq Ct^p\Phi(s)\) for all \(s>0\) and \(t\in(0,1]\) (resp. \(t\in[1,\infty)\)) and, moreover, the function \(\Phi(t)/t\) is non-increasing (resp. non-decreasing). The authors study the action of a small Hankel operator \(h_b\) between two different Hardy-Orlicz spaces \({\mathcal H}^{\Phi_1}({\mathbb B}^n)\) and \({\mathcal H}^{\Phi_2}({\mathbb B}^n)\) under the assumption that \(\Phi_2\in{\mathcal U}^q\) and \(\int_0^t{\Phi_2(s)\over s^2}ds=O\left({\Phi_2(t)\over t}\right)\). It is supposed that either \(\Phi_1\in{\mathcal L}_p\) or the following conditions are fulfilled: (i) \(\Phi_1\in{\mathcal U}^q\), (ii) \(\Phi_1=\Phi_2\) or the function \(\Phi_1^{-1}(t)\Phi_2(t)^{-1}/t\) is non-decreasing. The main result says that the Hankel operator \(h_b\) extends to a bounded operator from \({\mathcal H}^{\Phi_1}({\mathbb B}^n)\) to \({\mathcal H}^{\Phi_2}({\mathbb B}^n)\) if and only if \(b\in BMOA(\rho)\), where \(\rho(t)=\Phi_2^{-1}(1/t)/\Phi_1^{-1}(1/t)\).
