It is well-known that there is a relationship between etale topological groupoids and inverse semigroups via the concept of action. Roughly, in this paper, the authors study this relationship between them. More precisely, they associate an etale groupoid to an inverse semigroup by using that the actions on topological spaces of an etale groupoid are equivalent to the actions of an inverse semigroup. Another key concept used in the work is bisection. Given two etale groupoids, the authors show that the algebraic morphism between these etale groupoids induces a homomorphism between the inverse semigroups of bisections of them. Finally, they explain how to recover an etale groupoid from the inverse semigroup of bisection of the etale groupoid.
