Properly located incompressible tori in the complement of a closed braid in \(S^3\) are foliated by intersection with the open book fibering of the complement of the axis of the braid by open discs. These foliations have been studied in a series of papers by J. S. Birman et al. [\textit{J. S. Birman} and \textit{E. Finkelstein}, J. Knot Theory Ramifications 7, No. 3, 267--334 (1998; Zbl 0907.57006); \textit{J. S. Birman} and \textit{M. D. Hirsch}, Geom. Topol. 2, 175--220 (1998; Zbl 0955.57005); \textit{J. S. Birman}, and \textit{W. W. Menasco}, Topology 33, No. 3, 525--556 (1994; Zbl 0833.57004); \textit{E. Finkelstein}, J. Knot Theory Ramifications 7, No. 3, 335--379 (1998; Zbl 0901.57010)]. In the third of the above cited papers a class \(\theta\) of essential tori whose foliations give rise to certain tilings is defined. The author defines in this paper a subclass \({\mathcal B}\) of ``typical'' tilings and goes on to demonstrate by example that this subclass is a proper subset of \(\theta\), and properly contains the class \({\mathcal R}\) of thin tiled tori, defined by \textit{K. Y. Ng} in [J. Knot Theory Ramifications 7, No. 2, 205--216 (1998; Zbl 0898.57004)].
