The article deals with representations of groups of finite Morley rank and provides an identification theorem for the natural action of \(\mathrm{GL}_n(K)\) on \(K^n\). The identification is performed among abstract semi-direct products \(G\ltimes V\) of finite Morley rank with \(V\) definable and Abelian, and \(G\) definable, acting faithfully and irreducibly. The core assumption is the presence of enough pseudoreflections to control the linear structures which arise locally. The paper is a step towards solving one of the problems posed by \textit{A. Borovik} and \textit{G. Cherlin} [Lond. Math. Soc. Lect. Note Ser. 350, 59-124 (2008; Zbl 1165.03013)]. Tools developed in order to tackle the Cherlin-Zilber conjecture, including recent (i.e. unpublished at the day this review is written) results, play a crucial role throughout.
