The notion of an arc field on a locally complete metric space (as a generalization of a vector field on a manifold) was introduced in the paper [\textit{C. Calcaterra} and \textit{D. Bleecker}, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 248, No. 2, 645--677 (2000; Zbl 0996.37018)], where the authors have shown the existence and uniqueness of solution curves for a time-independent arc field (which is an analogue of the Cauchy-Lipschitz Theorem). In the paper under review, the authors extend this result to the time-dependent case. They also introduce the notion of a solution curve for the sum of two arc fields and prove the existence of solution curves (by imposing a kind of commutation law on two time-dependent arc fields). Finally they obtain the uniqueness of a solution curve to the sum of two arc fields by showing the continuous dependence of the solution curves on the initial conditions. The paper is well written and interesting.
