The Schramm-Loewner evolution (SLE) is interpreted in terms of a one-parameter family of random curves defined in simply connected complex domains. The curves are invariant under conformal transformations of the domain and satisfy the domain Markov property. For the parameter values \(0<\kappa \leq 4\), the curves are simple. The radial SLE refers to curves that connect the boundary point to an interior point of the domain. For SLE curves evolving in reverse, namely from an interior point of the domain to the boundary point, it is natural to consider conformally invaraint Brownian loop measures, specified for loops that hit the curve and leave the domain. An obvious obstacle is that this measure is infinite. It is shown that one can devise a normalized quantity that is finite and invariant under Möbius transformations of the plane. Suitable estimates are established when the curve is small and the domain simply connected. This entails the validity of the Radon-Nikodym derivative of the reverse radial SLE with respect to the whole-plane SLE. The major technical input is the so-called partiton function method for the SLE.
