Let \(H\) be a real Hilbert space and \(F,K: H \rightarrow H\) be two Lipschitzian and monotone mappings. In order to solve the Hammerstein type equation \[ u+KFu=0, \] the authors use an explicit iteration scheme \(\{u_n\}\), \(\{v_n\}\) defined from arbitrary \(u_1,\,v_1\in H\) by \[ u_{n+1}=u_n-\beta_n (Fu_n-v_n)-\beta_n(u_n-u_1), \] \[ v_{n+1}=v_n-\beta_n (K v_n+u_n)-\beta_n(v_n-v_1),\,n\geq 1, \] for which they prove strong convergence theorems under various assumptions.
