Plancherel formula for Whittaker functions on a \(p\)-adic reductive group (Q1955959): Difference between revisions

Let \(F\) be a non-Archimedean local field, and let \(G\) be the group of \(F\)-points of a connected reductive group defined over \(F\). The author proves the Plancherel formula for Whittacker functions on \(G\) by using methods similar to the ones used by Waldspurger for smooth functions on the group following Harish-Chandra. The idea used in this paper may be extended to the case of other Plancerel formulas, especially for reductive \(p\)-adic symmetric spaces, and it shows the significance of the role played by \(B\)-matrices and their adjunction properties.
