Associated to a quiver \(Q\) with potential \(W\) is the Jacobi algebra \(J_{Q,W}\). In the article under review, the author studies the relation between the cluster algebra associated to \(Q\) and the non-commutative Donaldson-Thomas theory associated to \(\hat{J}_{Q,W}\) (the completion of \(J_{Q,W}\)). Roughly speaking, for each vertex \(i \in Q_0\) and each dimension vector \(\mathbf{v}\in\mathbb{Z}^{Q_0}\), the (Euler characteristic version of the) non-commutative DT-invariant \(\text{DT}_{\hat{J},Eu}(i;\mathbf{v})\) is the Euler characteristic of the moduli scheme parametrizing \(\hat{J}_{Q,W}\)-modules \(V\) of dimension vector \(\mathbf{v}\) equipped with a surjection \(P_i\to V\), where \(P_i\) is the projective \(\hat{J}_{Q,W}\)-module associated to \(i\). Letting \(\mathbf{v} =(v_1,\dots,v_n)\) vary, we obtain a power series \[ \mathcal{Z}^{i}_{\hat{J},Eu}=\sum_{\mathbf{v}}\text{DT}_{\hat{J},Eu}(i;\mathbf{v})y_1^{v_1}\cdots y_n^{v_n} \] in the variables \(y_1,\dots,y_n\). The cluster algebra associated to \(Q\) is a subalgebra of the torus \(\mathbb{T}_Q= \mathbb{C}[y_1^{\pm 1},\dots,y_n^{\pm 1},x_1^{\pm 1},\dots,x_n^{\pm 1}]\). The power series \(\mathcal{Z}^{i}_{\hat{J},Eu}\) can be organized to define a nice automorphism \(\mathcal{DT}_{\hat{J}, Eu}: \widehat{\mathbb{T}}_Q\to\widehat{\mathbb{T}}_Q\) of the completed torus (see the introduction of the article under review for the precise definition of \(\mathcal{DT}_{\hat{J}, Eu}\)). Let \(\mathbf{k}\) be a sequence of vertices. Mutation of the quiver with potential \((Q,W)\) on the vertices of \(\mathbf{k}\) produces a new Jacobi algebra \(\hat{J}_{\mathbf{k}}\). The main results of the paper is a precise formula explaining the relation in between \(\mathcal{DT}_{\hat{J}, Eu}\) and \(\mathcal{DT}_{\hat{J}_{\mathbf{k}}, Eu}\). Remarkably, this formula involves a generating function on the Euler characteristics of certain quiver Grassmannians. As a consequence, the author is able to recover the Caldero-Chapoton-type formula for cluster variables obtained by Derksen-Weyman-Zelevinsky and Plamondon. Moreover, he is also able to give new proofs of various classic conjectures on cluster algebras settled before by Derksen-Weyman-Zelevinsky and Plamondon.
