Let \(\varphi\) be a holomorphic mapping between the complex unit balls \(\mathbb{B}_n\) and \(\mathbb{B}_m\). The authors characterize the composition operators \(C_\varphi(f)(z)=f(\varphi(z))\) mapping between various spaces of analytic functions. A map is said to be regular if there exists \(s\in(0,1)\) and \(\tau>0\) such that \[ \left| \left\langle\mathcal{R}\varphi(z), \varphi(z)\right\rangle\right|\geq\tau \left| \mathcal{R}\varphi(z)\right| \left| \varphi(z)\right| \] when \(s<\left| \varphi(z)\right|<1\). For the case of regular maps and when \(0<p\leq 1\), the authors characterize the bounded composition operators \(C_\varphi:\mathcal{B}(\mathbb{B}_m)\to H^{2p}(\mathbb{B}_n)\) as those with \(\varphi\in H_h^p(\mathbb{B}_n, \mathbb{B}_m)\) (the hyperbolic Hardy space) and equivalently as those \(\varphi\) for which: \[ \int_{\partial\mathbb{B}_n}\left(\int_{0}^1 \frac{\left| \mathcal{R}\varphi(r\xi)\right|^2}{(1-\left| \varphi(r\xi)\right|^2)^2}(1-r)dr\right)^p d\sigma_n(\xi)<\infty. \] Here \(\mathcal{R}\) is the radial derivative and \(\sigma_n\) is the normalized Lebesgue measure on the boundary of the unit ball \(\mathbb{B}_n\). Bloch to Bergman boundedness, Growth to Hardy boundedness and Growth to Bergman type results are also obtained.
