    The authors prove results about the existence of at least one nontrivial \(T\)-periodic orbit for the second order Hamiltonian system \[ \ddot{u}(t) + A(t)u(t) +\nabla F (t, u(t)) = 0\mathrm{ for a.e. } t \in \mathbb R, \] where \(A(t)\) is a \(N \times N\) real symmetric matrix, continuous, \(T\)-periodic in \(t\), and \(F : \mathbb R \times \mathbb R \to \mathbb R\) is \(T\)-periodic in \(t\) satisfying that \(F (t, x)\) is measurable in \(t\) for every \(x \in \mathbb R^N\) and continuously differentiable in \(x\) for a.e. \(t \in [0, T ]\). It is supposed that there exist \(a \in C(\mathbb R^+ , \mathbb R^+ )\) and \(b \in L^1 (0, T ; \mathbb R^+ )\) such that \[ | F (t, x)| \leq a(| x| )b(t), \,\, | F (t, x)| \leq a(| x|)b(t) \] for all \(x \in \mathbb R^N\) and a.e. \(t \in [0, T ]\).
