States on MV-algebras were first analyzed in depth by the present reviewer in his papers [Int. J. Theor. Phys. 32, No. 10, 1941--1955 (1993; Zbl 0799.03019); Stud. Log. 55, No. 1, 113--127 (1995; Zbl 0836.03016)]. MV-algebras with an internal state operation were introduced by \textit{T. Flaminio} and \textit{F. Montagna} [Int. J. Approx. Reasoning 50, No. 1, 138--152 (2009; Zbl 1185.06007)] and named ``state MV-algebras''. ``State pseudo MV-algebras'' (or ``state GMV-algebras'') were introduced by \textit{J. Rachůnek} and \textit{B. Šalounová} [Soft Comput.. 15, No. 2, 327--334 (2011; Zbl 1260.06014)]. More generally, ``state BL-algebras'' were introduced by \textit{L. C. Ciungu}, \textit{A. Dvurečenskij} and \textit{M. Hyčko} [ibid. 15, No. 4, 619--634 (2011; Zbl 1251.03096)]. Further extensions were given by \textit{A. Dvurečenskij} et al. [Fuzzy Sets Syst. 187, No. 1, 58--76 (2012; Zbl 1266.03071)] to Rl-monoids. The present paper deals with ``state filters'' on state pseudo BL-algebras. Among others, a characterization is given of maximal state filters, and a prime state filter theorem is proved.
