The paper deals with an important topic in Riemannian geometry, the multiplicity of isometry-invariant geodesics. Namely the author studies the isometry-invariant geodesics on a closed product manifold \((M_1\times M_2,g)\) with \(\dim(M_2)\geq 2\). The main result states that, in this situation, every isometry homotopic to the identity admits infinitely many invariant-geodesics, if \(\mathrm{rank} H_1(M_1)\neq 0\). The results used by the author are Morse theory on path spaces and Bangert-Klingenberg lemmas carefully adapted to the specific situation in the paper.
