The homology groups of the Milnor fiber associated to a central arrangement of hyperplanes in \(\mathbb C^3\) (Q387913): Difference between revisions

The author studies the first homology group of the Milnor fiber associated to a hyperplane arrangement by using the combinatorics of a hyperplane arrangement, i.e. the intersection lattice of the hyperplanes. An upper bound on the first Betti number is established in terms of the combinatorics. Moreover, under combinatorial conditions, the author establishes that the first homology group of the Milnor fiber is torsion-free.
