Let \(R\) be a prime Goldie ring with quotient ring \(Q\), and let \(\delta\) be a derivation of \(R\). The authors determine the maximal \(v\)-ideals of \(R[x;\delta]\). They prove that \(R[x;\delta]\) is a generalized Asano prime ring if and only if \(R\) is a \(\delta\)-generalized Asano prime ring.
