The aim of this work is to study the well-posedness for some abstract algebraic-delay differential equations in Banach space. The linear part is not necessarily densely defined, but it satisfies the well-known Hille-Yosida condition. The nonlinear part is assumed to be continuous and satisfies the subtangential condition. It is well-known that the Hille-Yosida condition implies that the linear part generates an integrated semigroup that is locally Lipschitz. The principal working tools are based on integrated semigroup, variation of constants formula and fixed point theorem. The authors prove the existence and positivity of the solutions. For illustration of the abstract theory, an example in age structured population dynamics is provided.
