On the limit cycles of a class of Kukles type differential systems (Q2637053): Difference between revisions

The paper contains a study of the classical problem of distinguishing between a center and a focus for two families of planar differential systems. These systems are obtained by polynomial perturbations with arbitrary degree on the second component and can be considered as a polynomial generalizations of the Kukles system with an invariant ellipse. By applying the averaging theory of first, second and third order, the author provides an upper bound for the maximum number of limit cycles bifurcating from the periodic orbits of the linear center. These upper bounds are presented in terms of the degree of the corresponding systems.
