The author proves an analog of Minkowski's second theorem in terms of lattice points inside \(K\) where \(K\) is an ellipsoid. Specifically, the author proves the following. Let \(DT\) denote \(\{x-y\mid x,y \in T\}\) and \(\lambda_i= \inf\{\lambda >0 \mid(\lambda K)\cap\Lambda\) contains \(i\) linearly independent points \(\}\). Let \(E\) be an ellipsoid in \(d\) dimensional real space and let \(\Lambda\) be a lattice. Then \[ | E \cap \Lambda \mid\leq \prod_{i=1}^d \lfloor {{1}\over{\lambda_i (DE,\Lambda)}} + 1 \rfloor. \] The author leaves as an open problem to determine for which \(K\) a similar result holds.
