The authors calculate the covariogram and the orientation-dependent chord length distribution for an arbitrary triangle \(T\) explicitly. The formulas are based on the maximal chord length in a given direction and for the latter six different cases are distinguished. By integration, they then obtain the chord length distribution of \(T\). It is also shown by an example that the chord length distribution in finitely many directions does not determine the shape of \(T\).
