Riesz kernels attached to quadratic forms are naturally connected with several types of pseudodifferential equations in the Archimedean setting (i.e., when we work with the real or complex field). This subject has been extensively studied in the Archimedean literature over the years. In the non-Archimedean setting (i.e., when the real or complex field is replaced by the field of \(p\)-adic numbers, with its non-Archimedean \(p\)-adic valuation), it was shown in the last twenty years that Riesz kernels attached to polynomials of degree one can be used to solve pseudodifferential equations. The main purpose of the present paper is to extend the non-Archimedean results obtained in that case to polynomials of higher degree. In this way, the authors arrive at the \(p\)-adic analogues of some already known Archimedean facts. The authors introduce a kind of Riesz kernels depending on a complex parameter and which are attached to certain quadratic forms of dimension \(2\) or \(4\). Then they prove that these kernels, considered as distributions on a \(p\)-adic Lizorkin space of second kind, form an abelian group under convolution. As a consequence, they obtain fundamental solutions for certain \(p\)-adic pseudodifferential equations, as well as particular non-Archimedean versions of some classical results related to Sato-Bernstein polynomials. A natural non-Archimedean problem, already posed by the second author in [\(p\)-Adic Numbers Ultrametric Anal. Appl. 3, No.~4, 344--358 (2011; Zbl 1268.11153)], is to study the existence of pseudodifferential Sato-Bernstein operators, and of the corresponding functions, in prehomogeneous vector spaces.
