Fix \(t\in\mathbb R\) and \(n\in \mathbb N\). Let \(\mathbf{B}\) be the unit open ball in \(\mathbb C^n\) and let \(H^{(t)}\) be the Hilbert space of analytic functions on \(\mathbf{B}\) with reproducing kernel \((1-\langle\xi,z\rangle)^{-n-1-t}\) where \(\xi,z\in \mathbb C^n\). Fix a polynomial \(q\in \mathbb C[z_1,\dots,z_n]\), and consider the closure \([q]^{(t)}\) of \(\{qf:f\in \mathbb C[z_1,\dots,z_n]\}\) in \(H^{(t)}\). For each \(j\in \{1,\dots,n\}\) consider the operator \(Z^{(t)}_{q,j}=M_{z_j}|[q]^{(t)}\). Then \([q]^{(t)}\) is a submodule of \(H^{(t)}\) and \(Z^{(t)}_{q,j}\) is a submodule operator. The submodule \([q]^{(t)}\) is said to be \(p\)-essentially normal if the commutators \([(Z^{(t)}_{q,j})^*,Z^{(t)}_{q,i}]\), \(i,j\in \{1,\dots,n\}\) all belong to the Schatten \(p\)-class (i.e., are compact and their singular values belong to \( \ell_p\)). What follows is the main result of this paper: Let \(-2<t<\infty\), then \([q]^{(t)}\) is \(p\)-essentially normal for every \(p>n\). This result improves those related with Hardy spaces, such as the work by \textit{R. G. Douglas} and \textit{K. Wang} [J. Funct. Anal. 261, No. 11, 3155--3180 (2011; Zbl 1254.47004)], see also the references therein.
