In the multilinear setting, a coincidence result refers to an equality of the kind \[ \mathfrak A(E_1,\dots, E_n;F)= \mathfrak B(E_1,\dots, E_n;F), \] where \(\mathfrak A\) and \(\mathfrak B\) are ideals of \(n\)-linear mappings and \(E_1,\dots, E_n,F\) are Banach spaces belonging to certain classes. The article under review looks at the following known coincidence result about the ideals \(\mathcal L\) of continuous multilinear operators and \(\Pi_{as(p;q)}\) of absolutely \((p;q)\)-summing multilinear operators: \[ \mathcal L(E_1,\dots, E_n;F)= \Pi_{as(\frac{sq}{qn-qsn+sn};q)}(E_1,\dots, E_n;F), \] whether \(E_1,\dots, E_n\) have cotype \(s\leq n\) and \(q\) is strictly smaller than the conjugate number of \(s\). By means of the inclusion theorem for absolutely summing multilinear mappings, it is proved here the sharpness of the previous identity in the following sense: the value \(\frac{sq}{qn-qsn+sn}\) cannot be changed for any smaller number and \(q\) cannot be replaced by any bigger value. The optimality in other related coincidence results is also derived.
