In this contribution the authors obtain mapping class group invariants at arbitrary genus. More precisely, given a finite-dimensional factorizable ribbon Hopf algebra (``factorizable'' means that it is a quasitriangular Hopf algebra whose ``monodromy matrix'' may be expressed in a particular convenient way, and by ``ribbon'' is meant that the quasitriangular Hopf algebra comes equipped with a special invertible central elements), it is possible, for all natural numbers \(g\) and \(n\), to define, from the category of bimodules over the Hopf algebra, a representation (or action) of the mapping class group (roughly speaking, a group of orientation-preserving diffeomorphisms) of Riemann surfaces of genus \(g\) with \(n\) holes (i.e., \(n\) open disks excised) on some vector space, together with a morphism that happens to be invariant under the above action.
