The authors first establish the following continuous selection theorem: Let \(Z\) be a compact topological space and \((X, Y, \Phi)\) be a \(GFC\)-space. A set-valued mapping with nonempty values \(T: Z \rightarrow 2^X\) has a continuous selection whenever there exist a nonempty set \(A\) and a set-valued mapping \(H: Z\rightarrow 2^A\) such that the following conditions hold: (i) for each \(z\in Z\) and for any finite subset \(N_A = \{a_0,\dots,a_n\}\) of \(A\), there exists \(N = \{y_0,\dots,y_n\} \subset Y\) such that, for each \(\{a_{i_0}, \dots, a_{i_k}\} \subset N_A \cap H(z)\), one has \(\varphi_N(\Delta_k) \subset T(z)\); (ii) \(Z = \bigcup\limits_{a\in A} \text{int }H^-(a)\). From the above result, the authors derive five equivalent results on the existence of fixed points, sectional points, maximal elements, intersection points and solutions of variational relations, all in topological settings without linear structures. Finally, the authors study the existence of solutions for several types of optimization problems (quasivariational inclusions, Stampacchia-type vector equilibrium problems, Nash equilibria, traffic networks, saddle points, constrained minimization, and abstract economies).
