In this paper, the authors consider algebraic approximations of attractors for dynamical systems defined on a manifold, such as an Euclidean space, a flat cylinder or a projective space. They present the Foias-Temam algorithm approximating the global attractors of continuous dynamical systems, applying this method to the investigation of the Lorenz and Rössler systems. Also, they perform a modification of this method in order to treat the case of discrete time. Lastly, they consider a generalization of this method to treat the case of an arbitrary Riemannian analytic manifold.
