    The paper deals with the Schrödinger flow for maps from \(\mathbb R^2\) to the sphere \(\mathcal{S}^2:\) \[ \begin{cases} u_t= u\times \Delta u, & x=(x_1,x_2)\in \mathbb R^2,\;t\in \mathbb R,\\ u\big|_{t=0}=u_0, \end{cases} \] where \(u(x,t)=(u_1(x,t),u_2(x,t),u_3(x,t))\in \mathcal{S}^2\subset \mathbb R^3\). The author proves that for any \(\nu>1\) there exists an equivariant finite time blow up solution of the form \[ u(x,t)=\phi(\lambda(t)x)+\xi(x,t), \] where \(\phi\) is a lowest energy steady state, \(\lambda(t)=t^{-1/2-\nu}\) and \(\xi\) is arbitrary small in \(\dot H^1\cap \dot H^2.\)
