    Let \(h_{D_n}(z)=\sum_{k=0}^n \binom{2n}{2k} z^k +2nz(1+z)^{n-2}\) and \( h_{C_n}(z)=\sum_{k=0}^n \binom{2n}{2k}z^k\) be coordinator polynomials of type \(C\) and \(D\), respectively, according to \textit{J. H. Conway} and \textit{N. J. A. Sloane} [Proc. R. Soc. Lond., Ser. A 453, No. 1966, 2369--2389 (1997; Zbl 1066.11505)]. The real-rootedness of coordinator polynomials of type D was proved by \textit{D. G. L. Wang} and \textit{T. Zhao} [Eur. J. Comb. 34, No. 2, 490--494 (2013; Zbl 1288.11068)]. The authors present a new proof of the real-rootedness of the polynomial \( h_{D_n}(z)\) using the Hermite-Biehler theorem. Based on Theorem~4.1 of \textit{P. Brändén} [J. Reine Angew. Math. 658, 115--131 (2011; Zbl 1278.30007)] and on the results of \textit{M. Chudnovsky} and \textit{P. Seymour} [J. Comb. Theory, Ser. B 97, No. 3, 350--357 (2007; Zbl 1119.05075)] the compatibility between \(h_{C_n}(z) \) and \( h_{D_n}(z)\) is also shown.
