An algebraic Ricci soliton on a Lie group \(G\) is a left-invariant metric \(g\) with Ricci operator \(\mathrm{Ric}_g\) which satisfies the following equation on the Lie algebra \(\mathfrak{g} =\mathrm{Lie}(G)\) \[ \mathrm{Ric}_g=c\mathrm{Id}+D, \] where \(D\) is a derivation of \(\mathfrak{g}\) and \(c=\mathrm{const}\). An algebraic soliton defines a Ricci soliton on the group \(G\), i.e., a solution of the differential equation \[ \partial_t g=- 2\mathrm{Ric}_g,\quad g(0) = g_0 \] where \(g_t\) is a curve in the space of metrics on \(G\). The author classifies nilsolitons on 7-dimensional simply connected nilpotent Lie groups \(G\), using the classification of 7-dimensional nilpotent Lie algebras and some general results by \textit{Y. Nikolayevsky} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 363, No. 8, 3935--3958 (2011; Zbl 1225.53049)] and \textit{M. Jablonski} [Rocky Mt. J. Math. 42, No. 5, 1521--1549 (2012; Zbl 1258.14054); Münster J.
