The author is interested in the change of vorticity by transition from slip to no slip boundary conditions in a model associated with a viscous fluid flow in a bounded open subset of \({\mathbb{R}}^3\) with smooth boundary. He establishes lower and upper bounds for the \(L^2\)-norm of the corresponding vorticity change. In addition, he presents a transport-diffusion splitting scheme which is consistent with the Navier-Stokes equations with no slip boundary condition.
