In this paper, the authors study \(p_x + i p_y\) topological semiconductors with a square vortex superlattice. It is established that the mid-gap energy bands induced by the vortex square superlattice have nontrivial topological properties including the gapless edge states and nonzero winding number. Next, the authors are concerned with an anisotropic tight-binding Majorana lattice model in order to characterize the mid-gap states and obtain the tunneling parameters by fitting the low energy spectrum with numerical calculations. As a particular case, it is established that the anisotropic tight-binding Majorana lattice model has nontrivial topological properties.
