This paper studies a repulsive chemotaxis model with logarithmic sensitivity of the chemotactic cell density to the concentration of the chemical causing the repulsion, and in which the chemical concentration grows exponentially with a rate depending linearly on the cell concentration. The model is studied on a one-dimensional interval with Dirichlet boundary conditions. Classical solutions are proved to exist for all time, as well as their convergence to a steady state at an exponential rate. The proofs involve the development of a new method for obtaining energy estimates, using \(L^r\) (\(r>2\)) norms. The utility of the techniques developed here is also demonstrated by improving previously known results for a chemotaxis model with Neumann-Dirichlet boundary conditions. Results of numerical simulations are also presented.
