The multivariable Alexander polynomial of a link determines the Alexander polynomials of its sublinks. By the results of Campillo, Delgado and Gusein-Zade (see, e.g., [\textit{A. Campillo} et al., Funct. Anal. Other Math. 3, No. 1, 39--46 (2010; Zbl 1203.14031)], and other references of the paper under review), the Poincaré series of a complex plane curve singularity coincides with the Alexander polynomial. The author proves the resulting formulas for Poincaré series directly, for all Gorenstein curve singularities, in all characteristics. The Hilbert series of arbitrary curve singularities is expressed in terms of Poincaré series of unions of irreducible components.
