Let \(S\) be a semigroup with an associative binary operation. The purpose of the paper is to prove Theorem 1.1. Let \(S\) be a left-amenable semigroup and liet \(\mathcal{P}_{\mathrm{fin}}(S)\) denote the set of finite subsets of \(S\). Let \(h:\mathcal{P}_{\mathrm{fin}}(S)\rightarrow\mathbb{R}\) satisfy the conditions: \(h(A\cup B)\leq h(A)+h(B) \forall A,B\in \mathcal{P}_{\mathrm{fin}}(S)\); \(h(As) \leq h(A) \forall s\in S, \forall A\in \mathcal{P}_{\mathrm{fin}} (S)\); \(\exists M\geq 0\) such that \(h(s)\leq M\forall s \in S\). Then \(\exists \lambda\geq 0\) depending only on \(h\), such that the net \((h(F_i)/|F_i|)_{i\in I}\) converges to \(\lambda\) for every left-Følner net \((F_i)_{i\in I}\) of \(S\). In Section 2 properties of boundary sets in semigroups are established. In Section 3 a theorem is proven on the existence of fillings by finite systems with relative amenability. In Section the applications of Theorem 1.1 to dynamical systems are discussed.
