Motivated by an open problem by \textit{S. Fisk} [``Polynomials, roots, and interlacing'', Preprint, \url{arxiv:math/0612833v2}], which states that the associated Turán expression to the univariate Bell polynomials, is weakly Hurwitz stable (i.e., it is non-zero in the right half-plane), the authors establish related general results for polynomial sequences that satisfy a first order differential recurrence. Besides the solution of the Fisk problem, they prove similar results for Chebyshev and Hermite polynomials, and propose several extensions involving Laguerre, Bessel and Jensen polynomials. Some open problems are also stated.
