The idea of statistical convergence was formerly described under the name ``almost convergence'' by Antoni Zygmund in the first edition of his celebrated monograph published in Warsaw in 1935 [\textit{A. Zygmund}, Trigonometrical series. Warszawa: Instytut Matematyczny PAN (1935; Zbl 0011.01703)]. The concept was formally introduced by \textit{H. Fast} [Colloq. Math. 2, 241--244 (1951; Zbl 0044.33605)] and was later reintroduced by \textit{I. J. Schoenberg} [Am. Math. Mon. 66, 361--375, 562--563 (1959; Zbl 0089.04002)] and also, independently, by \textit{R. C. Buck} [Am. J. Math. 75, 335--346 (1953; Zbl 0050.05901)]. The classical Bohman-Korovkin theorem [\textit{H. Bohman}, Ark. Mat. 2, 43--56 (1952; Zbl 0048.29901)] establishes the uniform convergence in the space \(C([a, b])\) of all continuous real functions defined on the interval \([a, b]\), for a sequence \((T_{n})\) of positive linear operators acting on \(C([a, b])\), assuming the convergence only on the test functions \(1\), \(x\), and \(x^{2}\) [\textit{P. P. Korovkin}, Dokl. Akad. Nauk SSSR, n. Ser. 90, 961--964 (1953; Zbl 0050.34005)]. In recent years, general approaches to the Korovkin theorem were studied, especially in the direction of statistical convergence. In a recent published paper of the authors [Result. Math. 68, No. 3--4, Article ID 433, 271--291 (2015; Zbl 1338.40009)], a more general notion of statistical convergence for double sequences of positive linear operators \((T_{i,j})_{i,j}\) has been introduced, named ``triangular \(A\)-statistical convergence'', and a version of the Korovkin theorem in the space \(C(D)\) of all continuous real functions defined in a compact subset \(D\subset \mathbb R^{2}\) was obtained. In the paper under review, the authors introduce the notion of \(\Psi\)-\(A\)-statistical convergence, where the particular choice \(\Psi (i, j)=i-j\) gives the notion of ``triangular \(A\)-statistical convergence'' studied earlier by the authors. They define the modular and strong convergence in the context of \(\Psi\)-\(A\)-statistical convergence. They also present some estimates of rates of triangular \(A\)-statistical convergence for Korovkin-type theorems in the setting of modular convergence, extending earlier results, and give some application of one of their theorems to bivariate moment-type operators.
