The authors consider several properties of weighted Liouville type operators generated by the mixed Fourier-Bessel transform and applications of such operators to the theory of approximation of functions of exponential type. The notion of generalized convolution plays an important role, extending the previous one of generalized convolvers generated by generalized shifts introduced by the first-named author.
