This paper is concerned with the study of the configuration of vortices that minimize a renormalized energy-type associated to the Ginzburg-Landau system arising in superconductivity. The main result of this paper asserts that the triangular lattice is the unique minimizer (modulo rotations) of the renormalized energy among all Bravais lattices. The proof combines various tools, including asymptotic estimates, the mean value theorem and the Lebesgue dominated convergence theorem.
