The classical IBVP in an exterior domain for the wave equation with dissipation is considered. The dissipation is assumed to be half-linear and localized. The purpose is to derive decay estimates for the energy of the system by applying a Riemannian geometry method. Under some special assumptions, estimations on the energy and the solution to the system are proved.
