Davenport constant for semigroups. II. (Q2344343): Difference between revisions

Let \(R\) be a quotient ring of the polynomial ring \(\mathbb F_q[x]\) over the finite field \(\mathbb F_q\) with \(0\neq R\neq\mathbb F_q[x]\). It is shown that the Davenport constant of the multiplicative semigroup \(\mathcal S_R\) of \(R\) is equal to the Davenport constant of the unit group of \(\mathcal S_R\).
