A Stokes curve that connects two turning points is called a Stokes segment. As was shown in [\textit{T. Aoki} et al., Adv. Stud. Pure Math. 54, 19--94 (2009; Zbl 1175.34112)], WKB solutions of a second order linear ordinary differential equation with a large parameter can be invertibly transformed to those of the Weber equation near a Stokes segment connecting two different simple turning points and such a transformation is employed to analyze the fixed singularities of the Borel transform of WKB solutions. In this paper, generalizing the result of Aoki-Kawai-Takei to nonlinear equations, the author has succeeded in constructing an invertible formal transformation of WKB type that brings any two-parameter formal solution of a Painlevé equation with a large parameter to a two-parameter formal solution of the second Painlevé equation near a Stokes segment connecting two different simple turning points. A similar transformation to the degenerate third Painlevé equation of type (D7) near a Stokes segment of loop type (i.e., a Stokes segment that emanates from a simple turning point, encircles a regular singular point and returns to the original simple turning point) is also discussed.
