This work is devoted to the study of properties of the Landau equation, which describes the dynamics of plasma particles interaction of which is modeled by a nonlinear quadratic operator acting on the velocity variable and describing the collisions between particles, from a point of view of functional analysis. Since plasma particles are electrically charged, the considered Coulomb potential is the most physically reasonable choice for consideration. At the same time, it results in certain mathematical difficulties due to its softness resulting in a singularity. The main result of this work is the proof of existence of the constant depending on the mass, the momentum, the energy, and an upper bound on the entropy only, which bounds from above the weighted \(H^1\) norm of the square root of a nonnegative function representing the number of particles. In addition, the different proof is proposed for the resent statements of the recent article [\textit{K.-C. Wu}, J. Funct. Anal. 266, No. 5, 3134--3155 (2014; Zbl 1296.35112)], which considers other cases of soft potentials, and discussed its interconnection with the present study.
