This is a part of a series of papers devoted to \(hp\) spectral element methods for three-dimensional elliptic boundary value problems with mixed Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions in non-smooth domains. To overcome the singularities in the neighbourhoods of vertices, vertex-edges and edges, the authors use local modifications of spherical and cylindrical coordinates and the standard Cartesian coordinates away from these neighbourhoods. A geometrical mesh is used in each of mentioned neighbourhoods which becomes finer near the corners and edges. The differentiability properties and estimates of the solution are discussed and a stability estimate for a non-conforming \(hp\) spectral element method is formulated. The proof will be given in a separate paper.
